About Me
Most piano technicians have not traveled to the southern hemisphere to receive their training. However, as a double major university student of both Music and Spanish, Joseph Brasher was accepted to a study abroad program that would allow him the privilege to study with the Registered Piano Technician, Juan Alberto Schultis, owner and founder of Schultis Pianos, based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Trained in Italy and factory certified by Steinway & Sons - New York, with 35 years of industry experience, Schultis and his team have opened the gate to accessible piano tuning training for all the Spanish-speaking world. Concluding the online portion of the course this fall, Brasher hopes to take his piano services wherever he may go both internationally and domestically.
Having grown up playing the piano in Wyoming, Brasher will assemble a tango ensemble in partnership with Laramie Music Teachers Association this spring, a collaboration effort including his fellow students and a professional Bandoneon player. Following the receipt of multiple scholarships and the warm embrace of the Argentinian people, he is happy to pay this cultural tribute. At the conclusion of this project, he plans to launch his piano servicing business in Laramie under the Spanish name “Pepe”.
